Reflection on Term
This term, I began to move more into the birth assistant role. I attended 6 births and had my busiest birth month yet as 5 of those were in March! Most of them were as the sole assistant to a midwife. I was able to assist at a few Amish births, as well, which was very exciting for me because I hope to support the Amish community when I become a midwife. I also began to search for a preceptor and was able to connect with a midwife and start that relationship. I am excited to begin learning hands-on skills from her! Finally, this term I spent a lot of time preparing to assess and officially move into phase 2.
